Summit Brewing Company – Saga IPA
6.4% ABV
80 IBU
I know that I have raved about Summit’s newest beer on this site in the recent past. When I looked in my fridge last night, this was the beer I wanted after a long day of work and two soccer games. Saga, as I’ve written about before, is Summit’s take on the American West Coast style IPA. At 80 IBU it is also Summit’s hoppiest beer currently available and as I can attest to, is not overwhelming. My Vice President of Web Development(Sara, my wife) had a couple of pulls off my pint glass and commented that it was “bitter, but in a good way.” “The more you drink the more you appreciate the bitter notes.” That description comes from someone even more uneducated than yours truly! According to Summit, “Named after the Norse goddess Sága, drinking companion of the God Odin. With a divine tropical fruit hop aroma and clean, assertive bitterness.” This is a perfect beer to relax to after a LONG DAY, I absolutely love it and highly recommend it. Thanks Summit for improving the India Pale Ale style, once again. Get out and have a pint or three of the newest in Summit’s lineup, SAGA!
CHEERS!!

I did enjoy this, not sure I could finish a whole bottle, but then I really prefer tequila.
It was the smell that made me want to taste it. I thought my sniffer wasn’t working good when I sniffed the bottle and smell fruit…so I asked to smell the glass. If this were the only beer left on Earth, I’d learn to drink it. Can’t say that about Budweiser.
