I had a fantastic surprise when I walked into my local liquor store, this beer was brewed for the city of Mound’s Centennial Celebration. I was under the belief that this was only to be released for the celebration only, so imagine my surprise when I saw it staring back at me from the beer cooler. I barely could hold my excitement in while I was checking out! Upon opening the bottle I found the hop smell inviting which in turn made my tongue water with anticipation. The beer pours a bright golden color with a light head. The flavor is very hop forward that fades fast to a clean refreshing finish. The finish made it extremely easy to enjoy another drink and another drink. Lucid describes the beer this way: “Description: Named after the park in Mound, MN, this Centennial hopped Pale Ale is a special brew commemorating Mounds Centenial and the Spirit of the Lakes Festival.
Food Pairings: The citrus hop aroma and moderate bitterness allow this beer to pair well with most dishes. Great with grilled meat and fresh salads, this beer completes the deck grill-out.” As I stared into my glass I swear I saw a tiny ariel view of Lake Minnetonka formed by the remnants of foam! Or maybe I was just wishing I was on the lake enjoying this fine Pale Ale!
